Even more Basic Grey!

Well, I must admit I've never created anything outrageous with Basic Grey myself. I do love to alter though and I think I would cover just about anything with paper if I could! Thanks for all of your kind words for my mom's gazebo! She'll be happy to read all of your wonderful comments!

Did you know the new Basic Grey is in the store? You didn't? That's because I haven't mentioned it just yet. We have something extra special going on with a certain Basic Grey collection starting tomorrow, May 1. The newsletter will be going out shortly... you are definitely going to want to watch for it!

In the meantime, I'm going to share with you two layouts I created using some of the new Basic Grey collections!

Happy (birth) Day - by Me!

This is from my youngest daughter's (Ericka) 10th Birthday. I used Basic Grey Max & Whiskers! This collection is very versatile! You can still use it even if you don't have pets! I used the back side of Mittens and Elvis as the base of my layout. I also used the front side of Gretchen and Patches and punched the flowers from scraps of all of papers I used! I just love how it turned out - the colors are fantastic!

Cousins - by Me!

Another very versatile collection - Cappella! This is a picture of my daughters and my nieces taken at Christmas. I printed the photo in antique to soften the colors a bit for the vintage -inspired papers. Sepia and black-and-white photos would work really well with this collection as well! I used the back of Sonata as my base and added strips of Interlude (front & back), Mezzo (back) and Venetian (back) for the photo mat. The flower stickers are from the Cappella Element Stickers that I layered together and adhered with foam tape. Both layouts are adaptations of Basic Grey sketches.

What is your favorite thing to scrap about? Or are you like me and prefer to make cards and alter various items you find around the house? Let us know below and you could win:

Basic Grey Nook & Pantry 6x6 Paper Pad, Element Stickers, Stitched Brads; Basic Grey Offbeat Painted Brads; Basic Grey Origins Micro Mono Stickers.

Don't forget you can sign up for all the contests this week! We will have our final drawing this weekend and let you know Monday, May 3 on the blog. You can sign up for all of them if you'd like (April 27, April 28) Good luck!

Don't forget to be watching for that newsletter...

More Basic Grey!

Wow! It's interesting to see all of your favorites! I've not thought about it, but I don't think I can pick a favorite either! Let's see... Mellow was one of my favorites, Bittersweet, Figgy Pudding, Sultry, Lily Kate, Lemonade, Green At Heart... okay, I'll stop there! I think it's safe to say that we've all loved Basic Grey for quite some time!

Let's see some more Basic Grey projects!

Here is a gazebo my mom decorated using Basic Grey Porcelain, Kioshi and Green At Heart!

My mom found this gazebo in the clearance section of a craft store and decided to cover it with some great spring BG papers! The bird on the top was cut with a Sizzix die and glitter paper. I know I keep saying this, but I absolutely love how all of Basic Grey's collections match so well with each other! It makes them so versatile!

Here is a plant box I decorated using the Basic Grey Green At Heart collection, some Prima Bling, leaves and buttons from my stash!

The planter was originally white and I painted it green. I used a Sizzix die to cut the flowers and layered them together with foam tape. I curled the petals under a little with a pencil for added dimension before layering. Then I added some bling with Stickles! The stem, butterflies and photo corners are from the Green At Heart Element Stickers. I think I'm going to add a plant and use this as a Mother's Day gift! Shhh... don't tell my mother-in-law!

What is the most outrageous thing you've decorated or created with Basic Grey? Be honest! I want to see how crazy you get with crafting! Leave a comment below! You'll be entered into a drawing for:

Basic Grey Marrakech 6x6 Paper Pad, Olio Rub-Ons; Basic Grey Two Scoops Alphabet Stickers; Basic Grey Cupcake Glazed Brads; Basic Grey Bling It Rhinestones - Ladybug (Sky).

Don't forget to sign up for yesterday's post if you haven't done so already! Yes, you can sign up everyday! Winners will be announced Monday, May 3. Good luck!

Cute - by Andra Hoffman

This is a picture of Andra's adorable granddaughter at 3 months old! I love how the Basic Grey Green At Heart papers really match with the photos of Ella!

Giggles - by Andra Hoffman

Andra used both Green At Heart and Kioshi for this layout and I absolutely love how it turned out!

Break A Leg Layout - by me!

I used Basic Grey Kioshi for this layout of my daughter in her high school musical - Honk. The colors were perfect for the theme! I used a Basic Grey sketch and modified it slightly to make it my own (as usual!)

Happy Earth Day!

With so many manufacturers choosing to keep it GREEN, it's easier than ever to celebrate Mother Earth! Many manufacturers choose to print their papers on FSC certified paper. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) protects against habitat destruction and maintains forests by planting a new tree every time one is used. This keeps our Earth protected from climate change, pollution and other negative consequences associated with logging.

Did you know that here at Generations Crafting we are keeping it GREEN as well? That's right! Approximately 80% of our packing material is GREEN! Did you get those great GREEN "peanuts" in your last order? Those are 100% biodegradable! They will be completely broken down in about 1 week rather than traditional packing peanuts that will sit in our landfills for who knows how long! We often will choose to pack with paper rather than plastic so be sure to put that packing paper in your recycle bins and not the trash! And... don't forget to recycle the boxes your orders come in!

We personally try to lead GREEN lives as well! We recycle, make sure not to use too much water and buy only Energy Star appliances! We do every little thing that we can to protect our Mother Earth! What do you do to keep it GREEN? Leave us a comment about your GREEN habits and you will be entered in a drawing to win some Earthy Basic Grey Granola products! Leave your comments by Monday and we'll let you know who won on Tuesday!

Basic Grey Granola - 6x6 Paper Pad, Element Stickers, Alpha Stickers, Eucalyptus Rub-Ons (Blue) and Painted Brads.

Keep it GREEN!

Title IX - A mini- album created by Grandma

Check out this mini-album that my mom made! I love it - and not just because it features my girls! Most of the products she used are older products that I don't carry anymore, but I wanted to show off her album because I thought she did such a great job with it!

For those of you that don't know, Title IX allows girls to play sports in school. My mom was always very athletic as a child and was not allowed to play sports because, yes, she was a girl! How awful! I'm so glad I grew up in a time where girls are allowed to do whatever they want!

I love Rosie the Riveter on the front cover of my mom's album! What a nice touch!

This is my daughter Jasmine when she was on her Jr. High Volleyball team.

Jasmine on the volleyball team again.

My younger daughter Ericka followed in her big sister's footsteps and played volleyball for the city league.

These pages are all about me! I coached Ericka's volleyball team and the other page is when I was in the marching band in high school. I was on the flagline during marching season (I'm a nerd - I admit it!)

Ericka not only plays volleyball for the city league, she plays softball at her school!

And soccer! Ericka is our little athlete! She loves team sports!

Jasmine following in her mom's footsteps on the flagline for her school!

Ericka playing volleyball on a city league again. She's getting older and stronger in these pictures and is setting up for an over-hand serve! You go girl!

Thanks for looking at my mom's album! Leave her a comment - I'm sure she'd love to hear what you have to say about it!

Design Team Showcases Bo Bunny

Designers Leah Schaeffer and Nanne Harry have been creating some great layouts using the new Bo Bunny collections! I love Nanne's use of flowers and bling and Leah's detailed fussy-cutting!

"Adore"
by Nanne Harry

Nanne used the popular Bo Bunny Mama-Razzi papers for this layout. Gorgeous Prima flowers and flowers she cut using her Cricut really draw attention to the photo!

"My Family" by Nanne Harry

Nanne used Bo Bunny Double Dot paper and the fun Bo Bunny Cardstock Sticker "Family" for this layout. I absolutely love all the swirls, branches and detailed designs Nanne cut out with her Cricut to add to this layout.

"My Girl"
by Leah Schaeffer

Leah used Bo Bunny Flower Child for this fun layout. I love the colors of this collection! Leah fussy-cut the design from the "Aquarius" paper and adhered it to the "Far Out" and "Hippy" papers! It looks great - and what a lot of work! I love how the colors and designs pair so well with those adorable photos of Leah's daughter!

Stay-tuned for more projects!

Check out the SOUS Challenge this week!

I'm loving the challenge this week over at StuckOnUSketches! How fun and creative to put something unusual into your layout!

Designer Sandi Clarkson used some Graphic 45 papers and a gorgeous hand-crocheted dish cloth her grandmother made in her take on the SOUS challenge:

"Beauty in the Daily Dose of Dishes"

I love how Sandi turned a masculine collection (Graphic 45 - A Proper Gentleman) into a very feminine-looking project by adding a cursive font for her title, and those gorgeous Prima Flowers! And, what a great way to record family memories! Well done, Sandi - it's absolutely beautiful!

When you get a chance, hop on over to SOUS and play along! I think I may just join in on the fun this week!

Happy weekend!

More Design Team Work and a Winner

Designer Sandi Clarkson has been busy creating some great layouts for us using some Graphic 45 and Webster's Pages papers. Let's see her work:

"Easy to Love"

Sandi used Webster's Pages - Life's Portrait - Pure Grace for the background and added some lovely Prima Flowers and Bling around the photo. I love that doily under the picture!

"Proper Gentlemen"

Sandi used Graphic 45 - A Proper Gentleman: Dashing & Debonair, A Proper Gentleman and Man About Town, as well as some Prima Bling on this dashing layout. I love the simplicity of the design and how it really highlights those 3 handsome gents!

"Daydreamers"

Sandi used Graphic 45 - Le Romantique: Enamored Embrace, Loves Labyrinth, My Beloved and Tender Missives for this great layout of her parents. Sandi also added some Prima Flowers and Bling and used her Cricut to cut the title. I love all the detail in this layout - such as her fussy-cutting the couple for the center of one of her flowers, all of her distressing and that great lace ribbon!

To see more of Sandi's work, check out her blog: Soft Side of Sandi. Also, check out our Project Ideas Category (soon to be Gallery) for inspiration from all of the designers as well as yours truly!

Now for our winner of the Basic Grey Origins collection pack. Drum roll please... Congratulations to: Lori Fendley! Send us an email with your shipping address and we will ship your Origins Collection Pack right out!

Thank you all so much for playing! What wonderful comments you had for my album! Thank you! I did work pretty hard on it, for probably too long! I had to spend some of my Easter cleaning my house and I'm still not caught up on it!

Stay tuned for more inspiration and giveaways!
