Sketch Challenge at SOUS

Have you seen this weeks sketch challenge over at StuckOnUSketches? I just love what the ladies did with all the same sheets of paper and not just because it was donated by yours truly! :o)

Generations Crafting donated a few sheets of paper from the Basic Grey Sugar Rush collection to each designer. They used a wonderful sketch by Becky Fleck to come up with four completely different interpretations! I absolutely love seeing how differently sketches and paper can be used and I can't wait to have a challenge of my own!

Here are the papers donated to the SOUS designers:

Basic Grey Sugar Rush: Airhead, Big Cherry, Lollipop, Runts

Calling All Card Makers!

Do you love to make cards as much as I do? If so, we have some great new papers from Pinecone Press just for you! The Birthday Hoot collection is super-cute and I couldn't wait to fussy-cut all of those great cupcakes! Take a look at these great papers:

Birthday Hoot Party Games - Perfect background paper!

Birthday Hoot - Party Hat - Perfect background paper (let's not leave out the boys!)

Birthday Hoot - Say Cheese! - The perfect sized card backgrounds or mini-album backgrounds!

Birthday Hoot - Time to Party - The perfect sentiment for everyone!

Birthday Hoot - Cupcakes - Doesn't this make you want to get out your scissors?

Here are the cards I made with these papers and very little of anything else!

I did use some Stickles, pearls, rhinestones and markers from my stash to add the definitive bling that must be on ALL of my projects, but that is all I used! They were super-easy to put together and I made all of them in about an hour (fussy-cutting does take some time!) I did copy some of the ideas from Pinecone Press, but modified them slightly to make these cards my own!

Do you want some of these papers for your own birthday projects? Leave me a comment about what you would make with these fun papers! On Thursday, I'll have a random drawing and the winner will receive one of each of these fun sheets of paper! I'll even throw in some bling so you can "bling-it-up" too! Good luck!

March 2010 Contest

Every month we have a contest at Generations Crafting. It's not your typical contest involving a layout or card challenge. We have a trivia contes! Grandma comes up with the trivia contest and the webmaster comes up with the clever little titles! Each month you have a chance to win a great prize from the store! You simply submit your answer and provide us your name and email address. We have a random drawing of the correct answers and notify the winner by email at the end of the month. It's that simple! Here is this month's contest:

School of Hard Nox

On the Vernal Equinox, when spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere, which of the following happens:
  • Raw eggs can be balanced to stand on their smaller end
  • The sun is directly over the Southern Hemisphere
  • Day and night are roughly the same duration
  • The Internet undergoes Spring Cleaning during which users must disconnect or risk deletion of unused files

Submit your answer by March 23. A random drawing of correct answers will be held and the winner will be notified by email on March 24. This month's winner will receive: 12 sheets of Sassafras Lass Sweet Marmalade paper (2 sheets each of 6 different designs), 1 Sheet of Sassafras Lass Sweet Marmalade Alphabet Stickers, 1 sheet of Sassafras Lass Sweet Marmalade Journal Tag Stickers, 1 Sheet of Sassafras Lass Sweet Marmalade Sweet Treats Stickers, and 1 Package of Sassafras Lass Cameo Brads.
