Basic Grey Inspiration and a Sneak Peek!

Happy Wednesday! I thought I would share some inspiration with you today from our talented design team! Designers Sandi Clarkson and Leah Schaeffer have been playing with the new Basic Grey Oliver and Olivia collections and have created some beautiful stuff! Take a look:

Celebrate - 2 Page Layout by Sandi Clarkson

Sandi used some Basic Grey Oliver papers (Austin, Greyson, Joey, Keagan & Tate) to create these fun pages! I love the simplicity of the design! It really helps the photos stand out and the papers she chose are absolutely perfect for her theme!

Now let's see what Leah did:

Congrats from Beauty School by Leah Schaeffer

Leah made this card for one of her sister's friends that is graduating from beauty school. Leah used the Basic Grey Olivia 6x6 Paper Pad to create this card. The 6x6 Paper Pads have smaller designs and are absolutely perfect for creating cards, mini-albums and home decor projects! Leah chose the Candice design for her background layer because it reminded her of water drops! She also used her Cricut to cut the silhouette, scissors and title. Let's not forget the i-Rock for that bling!!!

Little Birdie by Leah Schaeffer

Leah had so much fun making the first card, she decided to make another one! She used Eliza for the background layer of this one. She stamped the little bird (Imaginisce Snag 'em Stamps) on McKinley, cut it out and adhered it with the flower on the die-cut. I love how Leah used Marabelle as the border on her die-cut; it adds some contrast and interest to her card. Great job, Leah!

Thanks so much for looking at Sandi's and Leah's work! They really did a great job with the Oliver and Olivia collections... what? You want me to get on with it? All right... check out what I spotted on Facebook yesterday! For those of you that have not seen:

Here is a sneak of some all NEW Basic Grey coming soon! I can't give away too much right now, but definitely be watching for more!

Design Team News & Our Basic Grey Winner!

Another Monday. I had a long, busy weekend with chores, errands and projects. Now it's time to get back to work!

For our first business of the day, we need to say a sad farewell to Sandy Windsor. As you may have read on the SOUS blog, Sandy has decided to step-down from her DT position there and she has here as well. Sandy will definitely be missed. We wish her the very best in all of her future endeavors.

Now I would like to introduce our new Design Team member: Teri Berrios (TeriBeri)! We are super-excited to have her on the team and can't wait to see all of her beautiful creations! We've already seen her i-Rock tutorial on YouTube and our blog and now I can't wait to see what she can do with some of the new collections! We will have a chance to "meet" Teri in a little bit, but first take a look at a couple of her creations with the i-Rock:

Sweet Pea Onesie by Designer Teri Berrios

Teri used the i-Rock to add the bling and the flower around the Sweet Pea iron-on. Check out how she did it on YouTube (TERIBERI2)!

Sympathy Card by Designer Teri Berrios

First of all, I love this card and the professional quality of the picture! Teri, gf, you are going to have to teach me how to take pictures!! Teri used her i-Rock to add bling to the flowers, butterfly and scalloped edges of the circle where her sentiment is. Perfect!

We will be seeing much more from Teri in the future! In the meantime, be sure to check out her tutorials on YouTube and her blog for more of her work!

Now for our Basic Grey Max & Whiskers winner. Congratulations to Ronda!

One collection, two ways to use it!

Greetings and happy Wednesday! The week is half-over and my favorite day is on the horizon!

Today we are going to focus on the fun Basic Grey Max & Whiskers collection! I love how versatile it is! If you have pets, this is the perfect collection for you! The bright, bold colors and whimsical animal prints will look great on any pet project! Don't have pets? Use the back of the papers! I love the color palette of this collection! It's so festive and could be used for birthday's and other fun celebrations! I know, I know... I'm getting to the pictures already!

Designer Nanne Harry made this fun mini-album for her friends little Jack Russell. I love all of Nanne's mini-albums, but this one is so fun and loaded with spots for journaling and pictures. Nanne used the front and back of the papers for this album. Take a look:

A Dog's Life Mini-Album by Nanne Harry

How fun is this little album? Nanne always creates such nice projects! Her attention to detail really makes her projects come to life!

I love the reds, golds and oranges of this collection. I made this gift set using the backs of the papers! This set could easily be used for a birthday celebration or a thank you! Take a look:

I did add the fussy-cut picture of the cat and dog from Dakota to this card. I thought it worked well with my sentiment!

Can you believe these projects came from the same collection? They have a completely different feel, that is what makes the Max & Whiskers collection so versatile!

Well, what do you think? Leave a comment below about your favorite part of this collection - the colors, patterns, etc and you'll be entered into a drawing to win some of it!

Leave your comment by 11:59pm, Sunday, July 18 and we'll announce the winner on the blog Monday, July 19! Good luck!!!
