Coming Soon and More Inspiration

Wednesday! I've come to love this day for many reasons, but mostly because I'm that much closer to... well, you know!

I want to share with you a brand new company that we've added (have you seen it yet?), but first you have got to check out what Designer Nanne Harry has done with some Basic Grey Olivia papers, Prima Flowers, her Cricut and her amazing talent! Welcome home, Nanne!

I Love Bee-ing your Friend by Designer Nanne Harry

Nanne used Basic Grey Olivia - Ashlyn, Brooklyn and Emma on this gorgeous layout. She added some Prima Flowers, cut the title and bees with her Cricut and added some other nice details. I love everything about this layout, but I especially love these colors! The pop of yellow against all the pink really draws your eye toward the photo. This layout is so summery and fun -- I love it!

So now it's time for me to introduce... Echo Park! They have some of the cutest stuff and we've decided to start with their new Halloween collection: Happy Halloween!

Design Team Inspiration

We've got a little design team inspiration for you on this fine Tuesday! Designers Teri Berrios and Leah Schaeffer have been hard at work with a couple of Basic Grey collections and have made some wonderful layouts for your viewing pleasure! Take a look:

You Take the Cake by Designer Teri Berrios

Teri used the very versatile Nook & Pantry papers and embellishments for this double-page layout. She also used some Bo Bunny and Jillibean Soup Stamps! I would have never thought of using Nook & Pantry for a birthday celebration, but I love how this turned out!

9 Months by Designer Leah Scheaffer

Leah used the fun Oliver collection for this layout of her little boy when he was 9 months old. Check out the fussy-cut icons on the border! Leah hand cut each of the little characters and the train from the Austin paper. What a lot of work!

Pretty Please by Designer Leah Schaeffer

Leah again used the Oliver collection papers for this layout! That picture is too perfect for her theme! I love all the little details Leah added: the Sundae and the title cut from her Cricut and that pom-pom border adds such a nice touch!

Home Decor and a Winner!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a marvelous weekend, full of creativity! I've been on a home decor kick lately! I had so much fun altering the bookcase and trinket box, I decided to do some more altering! Remember the beautiful Bo Bunny Beau Jardin collection? I had some left-overs and decided to alter a picture frame with it and some Prima Flowers and Bling. Check it out:

Altered Picture Frame by GenCraft (Floren)





I found this wood frame on sale at a craft store a while back. I painted the sides black. After it was dry, I covered it with the back of Bo Bunny Beau Jardin Blue. I cut out the heart shape and used the front of the paper for the inside of the heart! Then, I added my bling: Prima Say It In Pearls with Flowers Snow. And for the finishing touch, I added some Prima Belle Arte Aquarius Flowers and Tea Roses in Sweet Teal! Super simple and great home decor!

Back to School and a winner!

Yay, Friday!!! Have I mentioned it's my favorite day of the week? LOL!

Back to School -- okay, so I'm a little late. Truth be told, I really wanted to make a card using a new collection released from CHA. We go back to school so early here that the timing is just not right so I had to make my own Back to School collection! Here is my card:

I used Bo Bunny Double Dot Wildberry, Brilliant Blue and Calypso Stripe for the base of my card. The stamp is an Imaginisce Snag 'em Stamp that I colored with Copic and Sharpie markers. I just love how this card turned out!

Now for the winner of the Kaisercraft Coaster Pack. BTW, thanks so much for all your compliments about my Kioshi Coasters! I love making stuff like this for my house and have been working on more! Just wait 'till you see it all!

Kioshi Coasters

Happy Wednesday! We've made it to the middle of the week - already! I don't know about you, but this week is moving quickly!

It has been humid here. We've had a few thunder storms and our monsoon season has definitely started. I suppose humidity is a relative term! You see, I live in Phoenix. It's dry here (the way I like it!) Humid to me is anything above 20% and we've had it up to 50%. Yuck! I feel bad for those of you that live in really humid states!

Anyway... where I'm going with this whole humidity thing is that I need coasters! Our water glasses have been sweating profusely (just like us!) and this is a big no-no for my wood furniture! So I decided to make my own coasters! I used some Kaisercraft wood coasters, a little acrylic paint, diamond glaze and some Basic Grey Kioshi papers. Check them out:

I painted all the wood Spring Green with some Acrylic Paint. It actually took two coats. After it was dry, I put a thin coat of Diamond Glaze over the top of each coaster and applied my Kioshi papers. I punched the papers with a 3 1/2" punch - I thought it would look nice to have a border rather than having the papers go all the way to the edge of each coaster! After it was dry, I put a thin coat of Diamond Glaze on top and allowed it to dry. I put another coat of Diamond Glaze, let dry and then I did the same thing with the back of each coaster!

This project was super easy, but took forever! You have to let your Diamond Glaze dry completely or else your paper will bubble! I let each coat of glaze dry overnight. I started this project over the weekend and it's finally dry! Now I have some gorgeous home decor, as well as sturdy coasters that I can use to protect my wood furniture!
