Father's Day

Father's Day is right around the corner! It's tough to make masculine cards - boy what a challenge! I don't know about you, but I want to put flowers and bling and ribbon all over my cards! I don't think Dad would appreciate that very much!

I did find the perfect masculine collection for my cards though! The Graphic 45 - A Proper Gentleman collection is absolutely perfect and I had fun mixing and matching with Basic Grey Basics papers and stickers! Take a look:

For the card I used Basic Grey Manila - Jargon. The base is the back of G45 - Sporting Aristocrat. I also added a strip of Man About Town (back) that I punched with one of those fun border punches. The letter stickers and decorative leaves are Basic Grey and the pearls are Kaisercraft.

The card is Basic Grey Kraft - Tally. The base of the card is G45 - Dashing and Debonair (back). The stars (cut with my Sizzix Big Shot) are Timely Point of View (back), The Sophisticate (front and back.) I stamped a father sentiment using a Basic Grey Value Stamp onto a Basic Grey Basic Manila Label Sticker and adhered with foam tape. The letter stickers are also Basic Grey.

The card is Basic Grey Manila - Jargon. The base of the card is Haberdasher (back). I layered with Man About Town (back) and The Sophisticate (back). The label sticker is Basic Grey (Basic Manila Label Sticker) and the letters are also from the Basic Grey Basics collection. The Rhinestones are from my stash.

Last but not least, I wanted to show a gift idea for Dad. My husband likes to play golf, so I thought this fun Cosmo Cricket photo box would make a perfect "tee holder!" I decorated the box top with Man About Town. The bottom of the box I covered with The Sophisticate and two golf images from Sporting Aristocrat. I put a Basic Grey Label Sticker on the bottom that the kids could write something on (I was thinking "Fore You" - does that sound cheesy? lol.) All we need now is a transparency in the window and to add some golf tees!

Well, what do you think? This was pretty challenging for me! Like I said, it was nearly painful not to add flowers and swirly bling all over the place! Leave me a comment below and win yourself some G45 - A Proper Gentleman Papers and some Basic Grey Basics to go along with it! We'll have a random drawing and announce the winner on Friday! Good luck!

Happy Crafting!

  3. they are very classy!
it's challenging to do some art thinking of a particular person. my husband for example likes simple cards and I always make it very decorative adding too many flowers (i guess that's my style!). It's hard to decide when to stop adding :-) happy father's day!
