Let's meet Designer Sandi Clarkson

Today we are going to meet Sandi Clarkson and find out a little about her and her design style!

Gencraft: Tell us a little about yourself!

Sandi: I'm married to a wonderful guy named Dan and we live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. We have 3 grown daughters, 3 SILs and 12 wonderful grandkids! Yes, twelve. I work as an Audiologist in the medical field by day and scrapbook by night. My SIL Susanna introduced me to this hobby about 4 years and I fell in love! For Christmas Dan bought me a die cut machine and well, that totally changed my approach to scrap booking. Now I try to make most of my own embellishments ... but I can't go without my bling and buttons!

Gencraft: When did you start scrap-booking/paper-crafting?

Sandi: I have done some kind of crafts all my life but I started scrap booking in about 2006 with an Easter album for one of my daughters. I remember going to Wal-Mart to scan my photos and then making my first trip to the scrapbook area of my local craft store. I had absolutely no idea it was such an industry until then!

Gencraft: What is your favorite thing to scrap about?

Sandi: Hmmmm, I love scrapping my family whether it's today's photos or from years ago, I love it all. My absolute fave though is heritage scrap booking!

Gencraft: What is your favorite kind of project?

Sandi: Oh, that one's easy. I love doing layouts! I do an occasional card but altered projects are rare. I have so many photos that I need to scrap that my focus has to be on layouts! I love sitting and looking through my finished albums. It's so rewarding!

Gencraft: How would you describe your design style?

Sandi: My style definitely leans toward vintage, shabby chic but I love using the muted, darker earth tones versus pastels. I like using lots of embellishments and especially enjoy adding the unexpected to a layout. Almost everything I do has some sort of distressing added to it.

Thanks for reading all about Sandi! Stay-tuned to meet the rest of our design team!

Happy Weekend!
